We caught up with Jean & Isaak to chat about wardrobe chemistry and how fashion fuels connection, creativity and confidence.

Thanks so much for being part of our LE.SHOP community. We’re excited to feature you both and learn more about how you approach style - both individually and together - and how you inspire each other through fashion.

How would you describe your couple style, and what kind of fashion pieces do you both gravitate towards when shopping together?

J: I don't necessarily think we have a couple style, we just wear what we like and it happens to complement each other! I definitely think we both do like to go for comfort over all else though - baggy & roomy pants, comfortable tops, and definitely a good hoodie, knit or jacket in winter. We like to shop for pieces that we know we will get a lot of wear out of.

I: Jean and I both like buying fashion pieces that we can immediately style and integrate into our current wardrobe rotation. With that being said, we also try our best to not impulse buy so we can invest in fashion pieces that we know we’ll love for a very long time.

What are your favourite brands or go-to outfits from LE.SHOP, and how do you style them for your day-to-day or weekend looks?

J: Gramicci and Tabi! I love Gramicci pieces because their fabrics are always so comfortable. And they make for great layering pieces! I've been reaching for my Tabi ballerina flats a lot lately too, they're so comfortable and elevate any outfit.

I: Gramicci & Tabi - despite being completely different as brands, I believe both Gramicci & Tabi make fun fashion pieces that you can easily style and integrate into your current wardrobe rotation. For example, I love baggy pants and Gramicci make a Loose Balloon Pant, which fits my aesthetic perfectly. I also love wearing fun shoes as I believe it energises an outfit, so wearing any style of Tabi really brings an outfit to life.

Do you have any tips for couples wanting to coordinate their outfits without being too matchy-matchy?

J: A tip I like to use is to go with each other's vibes! If Isaak and I are both feeling something comfy & chill, we'd go for whatever makes us feel comfy & chill. But if we're feeling like trying something new or experimental, we'd pick out something a little more fun. Rather than going for matching colours or pieces, Ifind this approach more suiting to our own personal styles!

I: I recommend adding your own personal style when trying to coordinate outfits, to bring out a bit of individuality. For example, in our recent LE.SHOP shoot, Jean wore a cap and did her hair in braids - which is very true to her style - and I added some sunglasses, which is my personal touch. By doing this, it added a bit of balance to our matching outfits.

How do fashion and personal style play a role in your relationship? Do you influence each other’s wardrobes?

J: Isaak and I definitely first gravitated toward each other because of our personal styles. So fashion/personal style does play a role in our relationship in terms of what we're interested in. We both work in fashion as well, so you can tell how much passion we have for it. We love to talk about trends, whatever's popping up at the moment, exciting brand collaborations, shoes, etc. We definitely influence each other's wardrobes, we actually just share everything now!

I: Absolutely! Jean has definitely introduced me to certain brands and influenced me to wear different fashion pieces that I previously wouldn’t have chosen myself. For example, Jean owns a zebra print belt that I definitely wouldn’t have worn a few months ago, but after seeing the difference a fun belt can make to an outfit, I now wear the belt too!

Outside of fashion, what are your favourite things to do together? Any go-to date spots, weekend rituals, or creative hobbies?

J: Most of our weekends are filled with cafes, markets and playing pool! We love just going for long walks and checking out whatever's in the area. For example, if we head to West End here in Brisbane, we'd hit up some brunch in the area, then check out SWOP, Brik Market, Bent Books, Middle Store and Teshigoto's Japanese goods. We both find lots of joy in each other's company while frolicking around the city!

I: We definitely like spending our weekends going to cafes, trying new restaurants, taking pics at photo booths and playing eight ball pool together. We also love travelling interstate to Sydney or Melbourne as exploring other big cities is one of our favourite things to do together. Our next bucket list city is Tokyo!
