Since 1982, Gramicci has been crafting practical clothing for life in the great outdoors. Tailored for movement and embraced by numerous cultural movements, what began in a garage in Ventura, California, has traversed the streets of Tokyo and beyond.

It all began in California in the 1970s when a fresh generation of free-spirited rock climbers, known as the Stonemasters, settled in Yosemite National Park, pioneering a new climbing approach — emphasizing speed and style. These novel techniques necessitated a new attire, and while painter pants and army surplus gear sufficed to a degree, flexibility was essential. Mike Graham, a Stonemaster with a discerning eye for design, set out to craft the inaugural genuine climbing shorts.
